If Leverett’s Chapel volleyball has playoff plans, the time to change their recent fortunes was Tuesday night.

And they did.

The Lady Lions had been 0-3 in district play, and could ill afford another defeat. LC got a home win Tuesday over Union Hill, a 25-23, 25-17, 25-16 sweep for coach Rickey Hammontree’s team.

Jillian Shaw, who returned recently from injury, came up big for the Lions, with 18 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and six aces. Michelle Jamaica had eight digs, 13 assists and five aces, and Katie Hughes had a kill, 16 digs and an ace.

LC, which is 13-12 overall, has an open date Friday night, and  then hosts Linden-Kildare on Tuesday.
