So far, VERY good for the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association’s 14-and-under all-star team, who are playing their age division’s state tournament in Center.

The 14-U’s blasted Livingston, 13-1, on Saturday morning, and then beat Henderson, 4-3, on Sunday. They moved their record to 3-0 in the tournament with a high-scoring, close 12-10 win over Marshall on Monday night.

At press time on Tuesday for this print edition of the Kilgore News Herald, they were to play Panola County on Tuesday night. The tournament continues through Thursday.

Members of the 14-U all-stars are Landon Abbatoye, De’Quincy Emond Brown, Rylan Copeland, Raymond Espinoza, Taylor Gibson, Colby Grimes, Dylan Wayne Harris, Kain Hogue, Trent Lopez, Kobie Newlen, Jordan Dwight Pierce, and Bransin Walker.

Their coaches are Nick Newlen, Jared Tate, Mason Shelton and Gene Gibson.

Kilgore had two other teams to reach the state tournament round this year: a T-ball all-star team and the 10-and-unders. Everyone but the 14-U all-stars are finished for this summer.
