Kilgore High School and Sabine High School, separated only by about seven, maybe eight, miles, are in different classifications and meet in very few sports.

One of the sports the Bulldogs and Cardinals still face off in is volleyball, and this year’s meeting went to Sabine.

The Lady Cardinals, coached by Kristen Reaves, beat Kilgore in three straight sets on Tuesday night at SHS in Liberty City. The Lady Bulldogs dropped the decision, 18-25, 25-6, 16-25.

Kilgore started well out of the gate, with a season-opening win over Nacogdoches, and also won a pair of games in a Garland-hosted tournament. But combined with the final day of tournament play, the Lady ‘Dogs have lost their last four. They are 3-7 overall this season.
