Sabine High School’s cross country team competed in a meet in Mineola last Friday and three of coach Jason Heffner’s runners finished in the top 10: Daynne Trevino finished eighth place (varsity girls), Kevin Maldonado finished in 10th (varsity boys), and Yael Acosta finished seventh (JV boys).

The varsity boys finished third overall, and the varsity girls were fourth in the team standings. The JV boys and JV girls each finished third. Also, in the varsity girls race, Sadie Loftis placed 16th, Emma Logan placed 18th, Flor Garcia came in 29th place, Kooper Bogenschutz 34th, and Greta Chubboy was 37th.

Anthony Aguilar placed 24th in the varsity boys race, Bryce Pobuda was 26th, Matthew Howland came in 30th, Robert Chubboy was 54th, Jesus Reyes finished 61st, while Randy Rodriguez was 65th.

Autumn Mosley led the way for the JV girls, finishing in 12th place.  Kelsey Roys came in 13th place.  Aubrey Powers was 18th, Jocelyn Maldonado was 19th, Briana Stevens 22nd, Katherine Mendez finished 27th, and Lupita Ramos was 30th.  

Ashton Stephens finished 12th in the JV Boys race, and was followed closely by Alec Gonzales in 14th place. Trent Francisco came in 24th, and Juan Ortega 30th. Camden Childress was 33rd, and Shawn Allen came in 41st.  

Sabine will run this weekend in the Hallsville Invitational.
