It’s been a good start so far to a shortened fall season for the Kilgore College softball team, and for interim coach Trish Robinson.
Robinson and the Rangers are now 4-0 after beating two opponents here Saturday, at the Ballpark at KC Commons, located off Houston Street at the site of the former Kilgore Heights school campus.
Kilgore beat a pair of teams, the Athletics (7-0), and Marucci Elite Bois (18-2).
The Rangers were to play again Tuesday, after the deadline for this edition of the News Herald, at home against Hill College. They’ll be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 10 at home in a round-robin tournament: at 11 a.m. against the 18-U Gold, and at 3 p.m. against Pro Form Elite 18-U/Smith. There is a game in between.
Typically, the fall season is pretty much a tune-up for spring, when the Rangers play an extended schedule that includes Region XIV Conference teams.
