Overton loses game one; game two Friday

Overton’s Kaley McMillian hit this solo home run Wednesday night in the bottom of the first inning of a game-one UIL Class 2A playoff against Frankston, in Overton. It was probably the highlight of the game, though, for Overton, who wouldn’t score again in the game and lost, X-X. The Lady Mustangs had four hits in the game, including McMillian’s homer: Makayla Moder, Brylie Smith and Montana Tarkington each had a single. Overton uncharacteristically committed five errors in the contest. Hailey Ragon threw a complete game, allowing six hits, one earned run, and a walk – Ragon had five strikeouts. Overton and Frankston will play again on Friday for game two of the best-of-three-game series, set to start at 5:30 p.m. If a game three is needed, it will follow that game two Friday night in Frankston.
