Jay Cox memorial tourney June 22
Jay Cox was a Kilgore High School student who loved all things outdoors, especially fishing.
Jay was in a car accident on April 29, 2017, and suffered a brain injury. He was in a coma, and passed away on June 17 that year. The family does everything they can to keep his memory alive, and what better way than fishing?
The second annual Jay Cox Memorial Bass Fishing Tournament will be Saturday, June 22, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Lake O’ The Pines’ Johnson Creek. Entry fee is $25, with a 50 percent payback.
All proceeds will go to the LiveLikeJay Foundation, which provides scholarships for graduating seniors and other aid to KISD students.
Check-in is from 6 a.m. until 7 that day, and lunch is included with registration ($7 if not fishing).
