Leverett’s Chapel’s first road trip of the season didn’t end in sunshine and rainbows.

The Lions made the trek to play Fannindel Friday night, in a UIL Class 1A (six-man) football contest, looking to go 3-0. But the Falcons had other ideas, and LC left with a 33-12 loss.

Coach Andy Bates’ Lions (2-1) have an open date this week, and then visit 0-3 Trinidad next Friday, September 25.

Demarion Brown had a 59-yard touchdown run for LC against Fannindel, and had a 52-yard kickoff return, also for a score. Defensively, he had nine tackles. Darren Brown had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, and collected 14 tackles.

Jonah Shepherd had 13 tackles for the Lions, and also had a fumble recovery. De’Quincy Brown had five tackles and a fumble recovery.
