Willie Gooden has been a part of Kilgore College football a long time: Gooden was a Ranger as a player, then as an assistant coach for a dozen seasons, and now, as its head coach, about to begin his second year.

He’s seen a lot of National Signing Days come and go. But Gooden is proud of this class, one that he hopes will allow his Rangers to continue to rule atop the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.

Gooden, through KC director of public information Chris Craddock, released KC’s 2020 signing class on Wednesday afternoon, just before 5 p.m. This list will be updated later, if any more national letters of intent come in.

Three Kilgore High School players – running back Kennieth Lacy, wide receiver/defensive back Davondrick Crowe, and offensive lineman C.J. Brown – signed with the Rangers. Joining them, in a class heavy with defensive backs and wide receivers, will be:

Alief Hastings wide receiver Kollin Jackson; Alief Taylor linebacker Mike Jones; Arlington Bowie running back D’Aunte Prevost and linebacker Keane Winters; Bellair wide receiver Willie McCoy III; Carthage offensive lineman TyKieast Crawford; Clear Lake running back Brendan Holmes; Conroe defensive back Alex Morrison and DaKerric Hobbs; Crockett defensive back Cristian Brice; Cypress Ranch defensive lineman Devante Keys; Cypress Ridge linebacker Ja’Nyus Morgan and defensive back Je’Vaun Dabon; Dickinson defensive back Deonza Yoakum and defensive tackle Derrick Martin; Eaton defensive back Oscar Moore; Eisenhower wide receiver Anthony Isom, linebacker Damon Dosewell, and offensive lineman Traveon Newsom; Fort Bend Marshall defensive end Warren Robinson; Galveston Ball defensive back Moses Alexander; Humble defensive back Demarcus Crosby; Katy Seven Lakes defensive tackle Tiago Sumbo; Nacogdoches offensive lineman Riley Birdwell and wide receiver Nazavian Floyd; Porter defensive back Joseph Guillory and linebacker Zhyon Bell; Richardson wide receiver Cameron Turner; Rowlett offensive lineman Wallace Unamba; Shadow Creek defensive back Chanceller Byers (coming off a state championship in a very young program); Silsbee running back Christopher Martin; Spring wide receiver Bailey Davenport; Sulphur Springs linebacker George Greenway V; Sweeny defensive tackle Trayvon Brooks; West Mesquite offensive lineman Kyree Miller; Worthing’s Jackson Harris V, listed as an athlete; and Klein Forest defensive end Maurice Westmoreland.

Again, if there’s an addition to this list, it will be updated here on kilgorenewsherald.com.
