Did you know: Kilgore College hasn’t lost to Trinity Valley since the two played in both the regular season and in the SWJCFC playoffs back in 2016, and both of those meetings were in Athens.
Last meeting: KC beat Trinity Valley here at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium, 49-24, on Oct. 6, 2018.
Last game: The Rangers blasted Texas A&T, a non-conference opponent, 70-14 last week, in KC’s annual hall of fame induction game. The Rangers had 696 yards of total offense, averaged 19 yards per play, and had their best rushing total as a team all season (356). Trinity Valley beat Cisco last Saturday, 46-13; surprsingly, Cisco is the only conference team to beat Kilgore College this year, and also beat KC last year.
Ranked: Both teams are in the top 10, with KC at six and TVCC at 10. Also ranked in the top 10 is KC’s opponent on Oct. 19, Blinn (they’re ninth).
What’s on the line: The winner of this game is alone in the lead in the conference standings. The top team in the conference has home field advantage in the playoffs.
