LONGVIEW – District 16-3A’s fourth-seeded West Rusk Lady Raiders dropped a hard-played series to Tatum on Tuesday night, here at Pine Tree High School.

The Lady Raiders lost to the 15-3A champions in the bi-district, or first round, of the University Interscholastic League’s Class 3A playoffs.

Tatum beat West Rusk, 19-25, 20-25, 19-25. The Lady Raiders finished up the season with a 28-14 record. The Lady Eagles improved to 30-10.

West Rusk was led by senior hitter Hannah Trichel, who had 10 kills, an ace, a block and two digs. Kaylee Driver, a junior, pitched in with 21 assists and 10 digs.

Also, Alexandria Lewis had seven kills and three digs; Chloee Tidwell had an ace, three assists and 23 digs; Kate Hooser had eight kills, a block and five digs; Kayla Lewis had an ace, four kills and 15 digs; Kodi Robertson had five digs, and Natalie Farrow had six.
