Leverett’s Chapel’s path back to the postseason hasn’t been easy, or clean. But the Lady Lions have cleared their own path, and when the UIL Class 1A playoffs begin next week, they’re there.

Coach Rickey Hammontree’s team of hard-fighting LC Lady Lions will open the postseason next Thursday, Nov. 7, against Fruitvale, at Union Grove High School, 6 p.m. start that night.

First, though, they’ll play host to Carlisle in a warm-up game Friday afternoon, starting at 4:30.

LC did lose its final regular season game, 16-25, 21-25, 20-25 at home against Hawkins on Tuesday. Jillian Shaw had 13 kills, 19 digs, and three aces. Lexus Haley had five kills, five digs and 15 assists, and Michelle Jamaica had four kills and an outstanding 36 digs.

LC finished the regular season 18-16.
