Sabine saw the bad weather coming, and decided it wanted to get its District 16-4A soccer game in, anyway.

So coach Wayne Borden did so, moving the game to Monday, and it worked out, an 8-1 win.

Sabine was to host Tatum on Friday night.

Sabine got four goals each, incredibly, from the Jaimes brothers, Fernando (a senior) and Lalo (a junior). Fernando also had an assist to one of Lalo’s goals.

In addition, senior Clayton Simmons had three assists; senior Sammy Acosta had two; and junior Ty Francisco, a defender, had one on a throw-in to Fernando Jaimes early in the game.

Waskom added a goal late.

The Cardinals are 14-7-2 on the season, and 5-2 in district play.
