Dr. Michael Eugene Alexander

Michael Eugene Alexander, 66, of Rowlett, Texas, lived his life trusting in the power and provision of Jesus Christ and was welcomed into the presence of God on Christmas Day 2018. He was a faithful husband, loving father and grandfather, and generous friend. Most of all, Mike was a man in pursuit of following God's call and sharing the gospel around the world.

Mike was born in Kilgore, Texas and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was 16 years old. Mike left everything to follow God wherever He led, and his loving wife, Wendy, gladly followed the Lord with him. His life passion of serving in church ministry led he and Wendy to many places. The friends from these cities and congregations have become like family over the years and he greatly cherished each relationship. God called him to India in 1976 to preach the gospel and he went back to this beloved country repeatedly throughout his life. He shared God's Word in large tent revivals and in small village churches. Watching God do amazing and miraculous things in his life and the lives of others around him gave him the greatest of joy.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Wendy, son Michael and Mandy Alexander, son Jarred and Carrie Alexander, and grandchildren Austin, Ava, Aubrey, Ainsley, Maddox, Brody, and Cash Alexander. He is also survived by his brothers Tommy and Kathy Alexander, Dennis and Missy Alexander, and Steve and Dena Alexander; mother and father-in-law Thomas and Mary George, sister-in-law Peggy and Jim Mobley, brother-in-law Brock and Melissa George; along with many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Helen Alexander of Kilgore.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Destiny Christian Center, 200 E. Interstate 30, Garland, Texas at 2:00 in the afternoon with Pastor John Lea officiating. Family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Generations Church, 3025 E. Interstate 30, Rockwall, Texas 75087.
