Kilgore High School will hold a send-off Monday, June 24 for the four students heading to Louisville, Kentucky to compete at the national level of the SkillsUSA Health Knowledge Quiz Bowl.

KHS Health Science teacher and team coach Cheyenne Kirkpatrick said the event will be held at 7:50 a.m. in front of the high school. KHS cheerleaders and others will gather to wish the team members good luck before they depart for Shreveport where they will catch a flight to Louisville.

KHS students Mackenna Watkins, Anushka Pradhan, Alison Rashidi and Sydney Chowdhury, who recently completed their junior year, earned the chance to compete at nationals after bringing home a gold medal at state competition in Corpus Christi in April.

At state competition, the team defeated 17 opponents. At the state event, June 24-28, they’ll face off against 49 teams – one from each state.
