Dr. Jeff Pinkerton, of Insight Eyecare, celebrated his 25th year in business in Kilgore on Saturday, Sept. 18, surrounded by friends, family, co-workers and community members.

For Dr. Pinkerton, working for 25 years in a city with a strong sense of community is “the absolute best.”

“The only reason I came here was because I wanted to work in a small town where I can get to know my patients. With most patients, I get to see their whole family. Just two weeks ago, I got to see three generations of the same family, the grandmother, the mother and daughter,” he said.

Dr. Pinkerton is a second-generation optometrist. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in zoology and went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston in 1993. Dr. Pinkerton enlisted in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of captain and earning a Meritorious Service Medal for medical service before entering into private practice here in East Texas in 1996.

On Saturday, Dr. Pinkerton said he was happy to mark his 25th year in business and extended his thanks to the team of Insight Eyecare employees, who set up the celebration and work alongside him serving the Kilgore community.
