Kilgore Lions Club honored Kilgore High School Students of the Month for December and January at their weekly meeting Thursday, Jan. 30.

Each month, Lions honor two students from KHS who exemplify academic achievement, athletic excellence, extracurricular dedication and a variety of outstanding traits from the KHS student body. Brookshire’s of Kilgore donates plaques for the selected students, who visit the Lions Club for a free lunch and a discussion of their achievements, as well as their future plans for college and the workforce.

“We have so many great students at Kilgore High School,” said KHS Principal Charles Presley as he introduced KHS seniors Katy Edens, Justiss Ross, Alison Rashidi and Luis Baldazo. to the Lions.

“These students definitely meet all the criteria standing before you. They’re all in the top 15 or higher. Their GPAs are all pushing 100 or have surpassed that greatly. They’re active, they’re involved and they compete in competitions. They represent themselves and Kilgore High School very well.”
