Get ready to support Kilgore Boys and Girls Club at their bingo fundraiser! On Thursday, Jan. 21, BGC will host its bingo game and dinner at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kilgore. Bingo will begin at 7 p.m. Dinner is $12 for adults and $7 for kids. Bingo cards are $10 each or 3 for $20. Cash prizes will be paid to bingo winners.

The menu will include appetizers, sausage casserole, carrots, green beans, cinnamon peaches and rolls with butter and mayhaw jelly courtesy of Kilgore Mercantile & Music.

Boys and Girls Club does so much for our community, helping local kids develop life skills, improve school performance and more, so please consider helping them as much as possible!

President-Elect Joe Biden has announced a $1.9 trillion funding package for nationwide COVID-19 relief, with plans to enact it after he assumes the Presidential office on Jan. 20. The proposal includes $1,400 stimulus checks for qualifying residents, along with additional funding to continue unemployment benefits and boosting the U.S. minimum wage to $15 per hour.



Texas has become the first in the nation to administer 1 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday, according to the Texas Tribune. One month into the state’s mission to provide vaccines in the Lone Star State, Texas is leading the nation in administering doses of the new vaccine, even as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are expected to continually increase in the near future.
