“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”

Do you have any unused or leftover prescription medications? The City of Kilgore and Kilgore Police Department are hosting a National DEA Prescription Drug Take-Back event this Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Walmart on Stone Road. You can drop off these medications with KPD Officer Davis for safe and easy disposal. Remember, never flush old medications down the toilet, put them in the trash or leave them unsupervised to prevent dangerous accidents or contamination.
Michael Olson, singing at Tunesday next week, is lead guitarist in the Darrin Morris Band and is worship leader at Revive Church in Longview.
Tunesday Tuesdays take place each Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the World’s Richest Acre Park in downtown Kilgore.
A message from St. Luke’s United Methodist Church:
“The Prayer Team at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church has a new ministry that is looking to get more people involved than just those that go to our church. We have started placing prayer nets around the church and at various houses around our community. The prayer nets are places that anyone can come to and let us know about their prayer request. There is a net at each location that you can tie a ribbon on to.
The ribbon represents our prayer request and there is an optional card where you can leave more information. As a church, we lift up all the prayer requests that are brought to us but we still need your help.
We are wanting to cover our community in prayer and need people willing to partner with us in two big ways. The first is to pray over any prayer net you see. It doesn’t matter where you go to church, prayer is something common to us all. The second way you can be involved is to request a prayer net for your house. This creates a new space for anyone in the community to come and pray. We are excited about this new ministry and hope that you are willing to be a part as we cover our area in prayer.
If you have any questions, call St. Luke’s UMC at (903) 984-3576.”
