The Memorial Weekend Car Cruise will be held tonight in downtown Kilgore from 5 to 8 p.m. Once again hosted by Kilgore Mercantile & Music, the event will feature classic cars on display. Come on out to check out the fun and bring your U.S. flag to show your support for our military service members!
On Monday, May 31, at 9 a.m., the Kilgore War Veterans Association will be having Kilgore’s annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Harris Street Veterans Park. The program will include music by Mitzi Hartfiel, a brief program and the presentation of colors as we honor the men and women who have fought for and served our country.
Tickets are available to purchase online for the 36th season of the Texas Shakespeare Festival at Kilgore College.
The festival will run from July 1 to Aug. 1 at Van Cliburn Auditorium on the Kilgore campus.

Tickets will be available to purchase in-person or by phone beginning 9 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at the TSF Box Office, located in the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Building.

With the relaxation of COVID-19 protocols in accordance with Gov. Abbott’s recent declaration, capacity for the productions will be 100 percent, allowing for more patrons to attend the summer productions.
Face coverings are optional, although patrons are encouraged to wear a face covering if they feel it is necessary.
Under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary Relief Fund (ESSER III), Kilgore ISD may be eligible for approximately $6 million in federal grants to help address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our students. Your opinions will help prioritize the most pressing issues. The opinion of all community members is invaluable.

The final Tunesday is Tuesday, June 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Performing will be the Kirbys (Andrew and Kate), owners of Big Sandy Music Hall. They cover rock, country and folk. As always, admission is free, and guests are encouraged bring a sack lunch and a lawn chair.
