The Industrial Maintenance program at Kilgore College will host several summer camps in July and August for carpentry, metal working, basic electricity/electronics and robotics.

The camps are open to students entering 7th-12th grades, and the cost of each camp is $260.

Each camp is one week long, held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at KC-Longview, located at 300 S. High St.

Texas Shakespeare Festival’s 2021 season begins tomorrow, July 1. This year’s season will begin with a performance of “The Merry Wives of Windsor” by William Shakespeare. To learn more about this season’s festival lineup, visit www.texasshakespeare.com/2021-season.


Parents of Kilgore ISD students can get some help with finding school supplies for the 2021-2022 school year at Junior League of Longview’s School Supply Train event in July. The program provides grade-appropriate backpacks filled with school supplies to any new or returning student enrolled in public school.

The event will be held Saturday, July 31 at the ROC at First Baptist Church of Longview on 209 E. South St. To receive supplies, parents must pre-register by calling Buckner at (903) 757-9383, July 6-9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., until supplies run out.


Kilgore ArtWalk will be held Saturday, July 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Kilgore Street and Main Street. Attendees can view art demonstrations, see a variety of artwork and support local artists and artisans.
