The 28th Annual East Texas Oilmen’s Chili Cook-Off returns next month on Oct. 28. The cook-off will benefit East Texas Treatment Center. This year’s theme is “Pour Some Chili On Me,” and participants are encouraged to have Aqua Net hairspray, parachute pants, mullets and leg warmers at the ready. Kilgore College is hosting COVID-19 vaccination clinics for the community, with the next one set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the carpeted gym of Parks Fitness Center, 701 Laird St., on the Kilgore campus.

A vaccine clinic will also be held Monday, Oct. 11.

Both the Pfizer (requires two doses) and Johnson & Johnson (one dose) will be available. Appointments are recommended; however, walk-ins are welcome.
