The Kilgore Woman’s Club met on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at First Christian Church. Hostesses were Lauren Cunyus, Patti Cunyus, Kim Link and Clemmie Richards. The refreshment table was decorated with trains in keeping with the theme of the program. Some of the food related to Valentine’s Day.
Lawana Sistrunk, President, welcomed everyone and led the group in the Club Collect.
After members enjoyed the refreshments, they updated each other on members who were not able to attend the meeting. Lawana Sistrunk called on Kim Link who gave the program about trains. She told about the roles of Jay Gould and Buck Kilgore in getting the railroad to go through what is now Kilgore in 1872. She also reported on plans for the Texas Bullet Train to go from Houston to Dallas in 90 minutes.
