The Kilgore Lions Club has enjoyed a rich 90-year history in Kilgore. They plan on continuing that path for many more years to come. In order to do that, they need some help!

You have no club without active and dedicated members. The current list of active and dedicated club consists of a core group of approximately 30 members. They can not be all things to our community with such a short list of active Lions.

Last month, they held our first evening meeting on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. Mr. Josh Selleck, Kilgore City Manager, spoke to about 20 members. The club has decided to have one meeting a month, the second Thursday of each month, as an evening meeting that will begin at 6 p.m. in hopes of getting some of the members who have a difficult time attending the luncheon meetings to attend.

They are also hoping this initiative brings in a few new members as well. Have you thought about serving your community? Are you interested in having the opportunity to network with key people in the community? Are you interested in meeting people and having fun?

If you answered “yes” to any or all those questions, then the Kilgore Lions Club is the organization for you! On behalf of the Club, we would like to invite you and a friend/spouse to join us for dinner on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m at Lions Hall at 307 N. Rusk Street, Kilgore. Dinner will be provided; all they ask is that you consider joining your local Kilgore Lions Club.

If you would like to attend, please email Jill McCartney, Lions Vice President, at JMcCartney@KilgoreChamber.com to let us know you are able to attend and for us to order enough food.
