Kilgore Public Library kicked off their “Tails and Tales” summer reading program with “Fun Day In The Park,” held at Kilgore City Park Tuesday.

The event, sponsored by Citizens Bank of Kilgore, featured games, sno-cones from Charlie’s SnoBalls and interactive demonstrations by Kilgore Fire Department and Kilgore Police Department.

KFD brought a fire engine on scene to let Kilgore kids and families get an up-close look at the life-saving equipment they use on the job and kids even got to hop into the driver’s seat.

KPD brought multiple vehicles to the event as well, letting excited youngsters get a chance to switch on the lights and sirens.
