Kilgore area recorded 2 inches of snow, Liberty City got 5 inches

We got a lot of snow Sunday and Monday.

The National Weather Service has released preliminary snowfall amounts for Jan. 10-11.

In Gregg County, Liberty City recorded 5 inches, while a measurement taking about a mile south-southwest of that area recorded 4.5 inches. The Kilgore area saw 2 inches of snow.

In Rusk County, are area west-northwest of Mount Enterprise saw 6.5 inches and an area near Henderson saw 5 inches of snow. New London saw 4.5 inches of snow.

"Snowfall totals generally range between 2 and 4 inches for most locations south of a line from Winfield, TX to Strong, AR," the NWS said. "The heaviest totals of 4-6 inches occurred in a swath across East Texas and extreme Western Louisiana south of I-20, roughly from Tyler, to Carthage, to Mansfield, to Zwolle, to San Augustine, to Nacogdoches, to Alto."

High temperatures are expected to be around 40 degrees, with mostly sunny skies.
