A former Sabine ISD employee has been charged with improper relationship between educator and student.

Cassie Wyn Dowden, 27, of Diana was arrested on a warrant and booked into Gregg County Jail Wednesday at 4:24 p.m. She was still being held Thursday morning. Bond information was not yet available.

Jail records listed an offense date of March 1.

Sabine ISD superintendent Stacey Bryce said Dowden resigned in late May, before he knew about the investigation. She was a teacher's aide on the elementary campus.

The 2018-2019 school year was Dowden's second year working at Sabine ISD, according to Bryce.
