Downtown’s summertime music series will close the year with Nashville’s 2018 Entertainer of the Year as Sheila and the Caddo Kats take the stage of the Kilgore City Park amphitheater Sept. 6.

The show runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. as Kilgore Main Street program wraps up its 2019 lineup of free shows.

“I think it’s been good,” said Sonya Waters, Kilgore community relations manager. “Last year was very wet for us, so it was nice we were able to have all the performances except for one.

“It’s always great having a good turnout for bands, bringing new music such as the Matt Castillo Band, to Kilgore.”

For the final bring-your-own-chair event, the Sept. 6 spotlight was also the winner of the 2019 Texas Country Music Association Compilation National Album Release.

The Kats include Sheila Clark on acoustic guitar, Steve Allen on acoustic bass, Alan Fox on acoustic guitar and Terry Sayler on snare drum. Under Clark’s lead, all the bandmates contribute vocals to the group’s blend of country, classic rock and blues.
