Liberty City Christmas Parade 2018

A long line of tractors stretches down Old Hwy. 135 Sunday afternoon during the 2018 Liberty City Christmas Parade.

For those in Liberty City and surrounding areas, you can get into the holiday spirit this coming Sunday, Dec. 8, at the 32nd annual Liberty City Christmas parade.

The theme of this year’s parade is “My Favorite Christmas Carol” and the event will feature floats built and decorated by parade participants. Santa Claus himself is scheduled to make an appearance at the end of the parade.

The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of FM 1232 and Old Hwy. 135 and head south to I-20.

Awards will be given to parade floats and participants in the following categories: Best Decorated, Best Parade Theme, Best Marching Unit, Best Vehicle, Best Religious Theme and the Grand Marshall’s Award for overall best entry.

In case of rain, the parade will be rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 15.
