A tornado watch has been issued for much of East Texas through 1 a.m. Friday, the National Weather Service said.
Affected counties include Panola, Harrison, Marion, Rusk, Gregg, Smith, Wood and Upshur counties.
Threats include a few tornadoes, scattered hail up to tennis ball size and scattered wind gusts up to 70 mph.
