The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Kilgore area for late Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning.

Snow accumulations of between 1-3 inches will lead to difficult travel conditions Sunday evening into Monday morning, especially on bridges and elevated roadways, the NWS said.

"A strong winter storm will begin moving into the region Sunday through early Monday morning," the NWS said. "Rain during the day Sunday will transition to all snow or a wintry mix Sunday evening and into Sunday night. Accumulating snow will be possible across the entire area, with the greatest amounts across portions of north central and northwest Louisiana, south central Arkansas and east and northeast Texas."
