Kindergarten registration at Kilgore Primary School will begin on Monday, April 3, the school has announced, and the Region 7 Education Service Center is taking applications for the early/head start program.
Kindergarten
The registration period will run from April 3-14, Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This enrollment is for students enrolling at Kilgore ISD for the first time and who are also entering kindergarten. Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023.
Parents and guardians should bring the following to complete registration:
■A parent/guardian’s driver’s license
■Child’s original birth certificate
■A paper copy of your child’s current immunization record
â– Social Security card
■A paper copy of proof of residence. Kilgore ISD requires either electric, water or gas bills or a lease agreement. If the name on the utility bill is different from the parent/guardian, the school must have the signature of the bill holder, their driver’s license and notary. Post office boxes are not accepted. No notary will be available at registration.
â– Bring paper copies of any legal documents pertaining to the child (adoption, custody, foster care, etc.)
Head Start
Registration is now open for the 2023-24 Head Start program. Beginning March 21, parents can call for an in-person appointment.
Use the QR code on the Head Start flyer to complete the pre-application online.
When applying, parents or guardians must bring the following:
â– Proof of income (W-2 forms or tax return, SNAP benefits, TANF of SSI documentation, if applicable, child support, if applicable, social security/disability, if applicable, employer verification of salary, if applicable, foster/kinship documentation, if applicable)
â– Proof of birth for applying child (birth certificate)
Other documentation needed, but not required to apply: Parent/guardian picture ID, court-ordered guardianship documentation, if applicable, copy of child’s Medicaid or private insurance card, current immunization record, ECI documentation/outside clinical services, if applicable, proof of physical address (electric bill, water bill, etc.)
Early/Head Start also serves:

â– Pregnant moms (Harrison and Gregg counties only)
