COVID Vaccine

Nurse Jenna Lucas prepares to administer COVID-19 vaccines Dec. 17 at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center — Longview. Pine Tree and White Oak ISDs are preparing to offer COVID-19 vaccines in February to staff members who want the shots.

All Texas Walmarts and Sam’s Clubs will now offer walk-in COVID shots in addition to scheduled appointments, Walmart said Tuesday.

Walk-in shots are available as supply allows. Customers who schedule their shot can complete pre-vaccination paperwork ahead of time.

Appointments can be made at and Walmart pharmacies are open seven days a week, and Sam’s Club pharmacies are open every day except Sunday. You do not need to be a Sam’s Club member to get the COVID shot there.

Pharmacies will be administering all three shots, the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Moderna, as supplies allow.

“Now that supply and eligibility have expanded, it’s even more important for us to reach underserved and vulnerable populations to ensure equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, executive vice president, Health & Wellness. “Widespread vaccination is the only way we will eventually end the pandemic and help our country reopen, and we don’t want anyone to get left behind as we enter this new chapter in our fight against COVID-19.”
