Funeral services for William Darrel Archer, 70, of New London will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 15, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Tom Guinn officiating.
Mr. Archer died Friday, February 9, at his residence in New London. He was born July 15, 1947 in Lewisburg, Tenn., to the late Charles and Beatrice Archer and married Jimmie Thompson June 21, 1984 in Galatin, Tenn. He was a barber and owned and operated ‘A Barber Shop’ in New London. He was lovingly referred to as Mr. Bill by all that knew him and would introduce himself as such. He was a member of the Overton Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, Mr. Archer was also preceded by a sister, Rhonda Edwards, and a half brother, Pat Archer.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Archer of New London; a son, Michael Archer of Lewisburg, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Joe Viger of Jefferson; a twin sister, Barbara Henry of Winchester, Va.; a half sister, Debbie LaGrone of Troy, Ala.; a granddaughter, Winter Tjaden; two great-grandchildren, Payton and Wyatt Dickard, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, February 14, from 5-7 p.m.
