Gregg County Sheriff officials are seeking any information about recent vandalism at the historic Rock Springs Church. According to GCSO Cpl. Josh Tubb, a sheriff's deputy on patrol April 23 spotted an open door at the historic landmark at 1366 Old Hwy. 135 in Gladewater. "Upon further investigation, the patrol deputy found a significant amount of vandalism to the church," Tubb reported. "Someone had forced in the front door. Broken windows. They also messed up stuff on the inside, flipping a piano." There's no indication when the crime occurred, he added: " Evidently no one else had been in the church since June of '17. However, the deputy was able to look around and establish it was fairly recent." Anyone with information on the identity of the vandals is asked to contact GCSO Investigator Ben Reynolds at 903-237-2544. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Gregg County Crime Stoppers at 903-236-7867 or greggcountycrimestoppers.org.
