There’s still a little time, but there are only 20 tickets left for this week’s Reverse Draw Down fundraiser benefiting Kilgore Boys & Girls Club Friday night in the Texan Theater.
At $100 each for a steak dinner and a one-in-a-hundred shot at $5,000, no tickets will be available at the door.
“We’ve got to have them all sold before the draw down,” co-organizer Charla Rolph said Tuesday.
Rolph and fellow Boys & Girls Club advocate Pam DeCeault are the go-to sources for the remaining tickets to the Aug. 17 event – Rolph via Watson Report Service (903-984-3443), DeCeault through Citizens National Bank (903-986-2265).
Overall, there are only 100 Reverse Draw Down spots available (though additional dinner tickets can be purchased, in advance, for $30 per person).
“There’s 100 tickets sold. They go into the hopper. As your number is called, you’re eliminated from winning,” Rolph explained.
Whoever’s name comes out of the hat last will win $5,000. Granted, the finalists in the event can also opt to split the prize money several ways, depending on how many are still in the running.
Otherwise, “It comes down to last-man standing,” Rolph added. “The Boys & Girls Club and a lucky winner will split the proceeds from the evening.”
The event begins at 6 p.m. Friday, and the main course is being prepared by Travis Martin and Victor Boyd with help from Kenny Mobs and Steve Kincaid.
“They’ve graciously donated their assistance in cooking the evening’s steaks, once again,” Rolph noted, while Rachel Brian provides baked potatoes and salad along with desserts from The Lunch Lady.
Bobby Beane and Bill Woodall will be hosting the event, helping cull the contestants with some comic relief on the side.
“Just come for an evening of fun and camaraderie with a good cause,” Rolph concluded.
