Still-Smith hosts Woman's Club


The Kilgore Woman’s Club met on December 14 at the home of Joan Still-Smith. The home was beautifully decorated for Christmas from the tree to the refreshment table and put everyone

in the Christmas Spirit.

After a time for refreshments and visitation, President Wilma Jones called the meeting to order. She introduced and welcomed guests,Deborah Tanner and Glenda Butts.

Jones called for the reading of the minutes and they were read by Secretary Carroll Bolton and approved. Treasurer Ann Patterson gave her report and it was accepted as given.

As there was no unfinished business or new business, the Civic Affairs Chairman, Joan Still Smith, gave her reported focusing on holiday events in downtown Kilgore. She also reported

that Kilgore College will be graduating the students for the fall semester on December 15.

Jackie Fout was introduced to present the program for the day. The program focused on the fashions of the '40s and '50s bringing back many memories for members. After thanking Ms Fout for the program, the President thanked the hostesses for the day-Joan

Still Smith, Sylvia Nelson, Roberta Boggs, Sandra Holley, and Wilma Jones.

After announcing that the next meeting will be on January 11 at the First Christian Church, the meeting was adjourned with members reciting the club motto “How Good To Live and Learn."
