The life of Rosie Lee Ashberry, 87, was exhausted Saturday, August 25, 2018. She died at her home in Kilgore from Lewy Body Dementia. She was born in DeBerry September 22, 1931.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Royce Ashberry; sons, Henry L. McCarty of Liberty City, Johnny R. McCarty of Longview, Malcom K. Myers of Longview; sister, Ellen Whitten Sartor of Kilgore; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry C. and Nannie B. Barnett; sisters, Hazel Shepherd, Alice Hardee and son, Randy L, Myers.
Rose loved people, friends, family and her dog and had a genuine concern for each of them. She was the owner/director of Lollipop Lane Day Care for over 29 years. She previously worked at Piggly Wiggly in Kilgore.
Service will be held at the graveside on Wednesday, August 29, at 10 a.m. in the Danville Cemetery. Rev. David Reeder will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 in the evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
