Rosetta Ann “Rose” Cooley, 91, loving wife, mother, and grandma, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Kilgore surrounded by her family. Services for Rose will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 7 p.m..

Rose was born June 14, 1927 in Racine, Wis., to Herbert Waters and Loretta Sherman Waters. Rose’s favorite holiday was July 4th and she so enjoyed watching the fireworks each year. She was also an extremely patriotic lady, so it was very appropriate that she was born on Flag Day.

On June 26, 1948, Rose married the love of her life, Joseph Junior Cooley. They were longtime members of Christ the King Catholic Church.

During the war, Rose was an assembly line worker for Hamilton Beach. She later worked in the school cafeteria where many of her students still remember her to this day. Rose was loved tremendously and will be greatly missed.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents and grandchildren Craig Cooley Jr. and April Bell.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of almost 70 years, Joe Cooley of Kilgore; children, Dennis Cooley (Donna) of Kilgore, Craig Cooley (Christy) of Henderson, Chuck Cooley of Kilgore, Richard Cooley (Trish) of Carthage and Patty Bell of Longview; grandchildren, Tonya Cox, Stephen Grimes, Dawn Poe, Heather Applegate, Chad Cooley, Jason Cooley, Michael Bell, Brandy Hulsey and Brittany Osborn; great-grandchildren, Macy Grimes, Haley Poe, Megan Poe, Drew Cox, Micah Cox, Jake Cox, Jesse James, Garrett James, Miles Applegate, Jackson Cooley, Sadie Cooley, Sara Hulsey, Kaylee Ackerman, Lanie Cleveland, Austin Mugan, Logan Bell and Hudsyn Bell.
