A man was wounded early Sunday morning in a shooting at Club Sensation on Hwy. 31.

Gregg County deputies were dispatched to the scene shortly before 4 a.m. Feb. 11, Cpl. Josh Tubb reported.

While they were responding to the shooting at 6412 Hwy. 31 West, dispatchers received information a gunshot victim was in the parking lot of Zippy J's about five miles away in Liberty City at 6242 Old Hwy. 135.

“When Deputies arrived at the Zippy J’s location, they found a white passenger car with one occupant identified as Ashtin Javon Arnett-Adams,” Tubb reported. The 26-year-old Tyler resident had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. “EMS responded to the scene and transported Arnett-Adams to an area hospital for medical treatment. Deputies secured that scene aided by two Officers from Kilgore Police Department.”

At Club Sensation, deputies looked for suspects and other injured individuals – none were found.

“Deputies secured the scene, located potential witnesses, and preserved possible evidence,” Tubb wrote in a Tuesday afternoon press release. “Gregg County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division arrived at both scenes to begin evidence collection and witness interviews. At approximately 9:21 a.m., investigators cleared both scenes concluding their preliminary investigation.”

Gregg County Sheriff's Department personnel continued followup up leads and interviewing witnesses Monday.

The investigation is ongoing, Tubb noted, and Gregg County Investigator David Falco is leading the case. Anyone with information on the shooting can call-in leads to Falco at 903-236-8438. Information can also be submitted anonymously via Gregg County Crime Stoppers at 903-236-7867.
