Services for Mrs. Norma Lee Ables Parish, 82, of Liberty City will be held on Friday, December 1, at 1 p.m. in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Reverend officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. Friday at Rice Cemetery in Rice, Texas. Mrs. Parish passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Longview.
Norma was born on October 28, 1935 in Hollis, Okla. She was the daughter of Alvie Lee and Willie Ables. Mrs. Parish has been a resident of the Kilgore area since 1986. Norma worked as a nurse for over 20 years. She was dearly loved by her patients and co-workers. Norma enjoyed fishing and going camping with her family. She shared her birthday with her great-great grandson something she was very proud of. Norma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah Vaughnof Liberty City; grandchildren, Jamie Gunn, Stacy Gunn and his wife Sissy, Kris Ann Frazier and husband Gregg, and Alvie Lee “Bud” Stockman and wife Dawnya; great-grandchildren, Lauren Clark and Jason Jameson, Hannah Fussell, Alexandria, Jacob, Gracie Marie, Alvie Lee “Trey” Stockman, and Garron Stockman; great-great-grandchildren, Gunner Allen Lee Jameson and Hunter Remington Jameson; sisters, Judy Steadham and June Hunt; several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband William “Bill” Parish; son, Alvie L. Stockman; grandson, Jeremy Gunn; two sisters, JoAnn McLane and Donna Sosebee.
