A Celebration of Life for Marvin Duane Brazier, 62, of Big Sandy, will be held on Thursday, December 21, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Brazier completed his earthly journey on Friday, December 15, 2017, in Big Sandy.
Duane was born on August 12, 1955, in Waxahachie, to Sherman and Carolyn Brazier (Wright). He was a “jack of all trades”; if it was broken he could fix it. He owned and operated his own full-service Texaco station in Gladewater by the time he was 18 years old. He later owned his own trucking business and worked in the oilfield as a driller. Duane loved animals of all kinds. He enjoyed being with his friends and family, especially his granddaughter.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Carolyn Wright of Gladewater; daughters, Dana Bates and her husband Shaun of Kingwood, Rochelle Jones and her husband Sammy of Harleton; granddaughter, Tessa Bates; siblings, Neil Brazier and his wife Cheri of Tyler, Marcus Wright and his wife Erica of Arp, Marty Wright of Winfield, La., and Rodney Wright of McKinney. Also left to carry on his legacy are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.
Duane is preceded in death by his father, Sherman Brazier; stepmother, Mary Brazier; stepfather, Johnny Wright, and a sister, Pam Brazier.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Meals on Wheels of Gladewater, 409 N. Cotton St., Gladewater, TX, 75647.
