Kilgore, L-E will attempt to play here tonight

In an effort to get the season opener played, in spite of all the rain on Tuesday, the Kilgore High School Bulldogs baseball team hopes to host Liberty-Eylau tonight at 6:30 p.m., a rare Wednesday night game at Driller Park.

Coach Eugene Lafitte’s Diamond ‘Dogs are scheduled to play in a tournament in Whitehouse that begins on Thursday, but that schedule may be altered, as well. Check kilgorenewsherald.com today, and changes in the Bulldogs’ schedule will be posted there as soon as they’re made.

Kilgore College goes 2-2, at Grayson today

Kilgore College’s softball Rangers went 2-2 over the weekend in home games against Weatherford College and McLennan College. KC (5-3 this season so far) was set to visit Grayson County College in Denison today, a doubleheader beginning at 1, weather-permitting. On Saturday, KC visits Weatherford for a 1 p.m. start.

The Rangers split with both teams last weekend. They lost, 6-3, to Weatherford on Friday in game one, then bounced back for a 1-0 win. Saturday, KC lost game one, 10-2, then won game two, 10-9.

In the win over Weatherford, KC scored the only run of the game in the fifth inning, an RBI by Makenna Bell. They had seven hits in the game, and Tori Tovar, who had a double, went 3-for-3.
