Smith in national title game today

Former Kilgore High School running back Ja’Quorius Smith is a member of the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, who are playing today for the NCAA’s Division II football national championship.
The Lions (13-1) will face West Florida (11-3) today at 5 p.m., in a game to be played in Kansas City, Kan., and broadcast on ESPN2.
The Lions actually have several East Texans on their roster.
Smith is number 43 for A&M-C. He is a redshirt freshmen and hasn’t recorded many statistics this season; he does have a 27-yard punt return and two tackles.
Smith was a standout at KHS who helped the Bulldogs to the playoffs in every year of his high school career.
If A&M-C is able to win, they’ll be the first Lone Star Conference team to win the DII national title since 1982.
