Memorial tourney Saturday
Saturday here at R. E. St. John Memorial Stadium, there will be a 7-on-7 soccer tournament, for ages 16 and up. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m., and proceeds will fund a scholarship awarded to a current senior at Kilgore High School, in honor of former student Samantha Watkins.
Samantha passed away last year, and the KHS boys soccer team won its first-ever state championship shortly thereafter.
The cost is $15 per person for entry, and there will be open registration at the event. T-shirts and bracelets honoring Sam will be on sale. Organizers won’t have an operating concession stand, so plan accordingly.
Anyone interested in donating or helping should contact Dawn or Chris at Gratton Chiropractic at (903) 218-5353, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
