Laird Hill man jailed on murder charge

Arraignment pending for 19-year-old suspect

A 19-year-old Laird Hill man is in jail, charged with murder, following an apparent homicide discovered Friday.

Dylan Page Rachal is incarcerated in the Rusk County Jail, awaiting arraignment, after he was booked Saturday morning.

Sources confirmed a victim was transported to the Christus Good Shepherd Emergency Room in Kilgore March 29 and was pronounced dead on arrival. No further information is currently available, and officials have not identified the victim.

According to a press release from RCSO, deputies conducted a “deceased person investigation” in the 1800 block of Rusk County Road 156 in the Laird Hill community and obtained evidence the death was homicide.

“Leads developed by Rusk County Sheriff’s Office resulted in two evidentiary search warrants being executed in both Rusk and Gregg County,” RCSO reported March 30.

That evidence ultimately resulted in Rachal’s arrest, and he was confined in the Rusk County Jail. No bail has been set.
