With the rain and storms bearing down on R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium, Kilgore girls soccer coach Heidi Hagan made the decision to move her game up from late Tuesday afternoon to mid afternoon, hoping to get it in.
She was rewarded with yet another shutout win.
Kilgore defeated visiting District 16-4A rival Waskom, 7-0, Tuesday afternoon, a fourth straight shutout for the Lady Bulldogs and goalkeeper Sarah Loomis. Hagan's Lady Bulldogs, the two-time defending district champions, have won all six of their district games, and have won four straight by shutout.
Kylie Nichols scored three goals for Kilgore, and Kaitlyn Word, Zoe Craven and Emma Taylor each had one.
Kilgore will play at Spring Hill on Friday at 5 p.m., the first half of a varsity doubleheader there. Kilgore's Bulldogs, coached by Tom Wait, will play at 7. Spring Hill has no JV program.
The KHS-Waskom boys game, which had been scheduled to follow the girls on Tuesday, had to be postponed due to the weather. It's been scheduled for Friday, March 16, which had previously been an open date for Kilgore.
Wait's Bulldogs are also perfect in district (5-0).
