KPD asks for help identifying driver after hit-and-run

Kilgore Police Department is seeking information on a hit-and-run which took place at 7:50 a.m. Monday.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Dudley Rd. and US 259.

Lieutenant Jonathan Gage said a black 2017 Nissan Maxima was struck in the rear while at the intersection. The car which struck the Maxima was described as an older model bluish-green Nissan Altima. After the collision, the Altima reportedly turned right on Dudley Rd. and left the scene headed east.

Gage said damage to the Maxima was slight and no injuries were reported. The driver of the Maxima continued driving a short distance before parking at Kilgore College and waiting for KPD to arrive.

Gage said there is no evidence the incident was related to heavy traffic at KISD campuses.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact KPD Traffic Officer Jason Romine at 903-983-1559.
