The Kilgore ISD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Monday to discuss the coming year’s budget and other topics.
The first item on the agenda, fallowing a call to order, is a grievance hearing. Following the Level 3 hearing the level at which the issue is brought to the board, reustees will go into closed session as allowed by the Texas Open Meetings Act before taking action on the grievance hearing.
Part of the meeting will also be devoted to a budget workshop discussion by KISD Chief Financial Officer Revard Pfeffer. The workshop will be the last major budget discussion before the final budget and tax rate is brought to the board for approval during its regular meeting Aug. 28.
Another discussion item included on the agenda involves a short term lease agreement with Champion EMS for a half-acre piece of land on the corner of the Kilgore Primary School property on Highway 259 near the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The land will be used to establish a 24-hour substation that will house one ambulance and a crew.
The board will also have additional action items in the form of Texas Association of School Board policy updates and any new hires at the district.
The meeting will take place at the KISD Administration Building at 6 p.m. Monday.
