KC Press Release

Kilgore College is encouraging local high school seniors enrolled in dual credit classes at KC to apply for new scholarships available thanks to generous donations from local businesses and community leaders.

The scholarship funds were raised in January at the first Martin Luther King, Jr. Dual Credit Scholarship Breakfast which will be an annual event on the Kilgore campus.

These competitive, one-year scholarships will be awarded to recent high school graduates who earned credits from KC through dual credit courses while in high school.

Scholarship funds are limited and may be used to pay tuition, fees and books.

Deadline to apply online is June 1, 2018.

Given the success of the inaugural breakfast, college officials have already set Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, as the date for next year’s scholarship breakfast.

Individuals or organizations interested in supporting this endeavor are encouraged to contact Leah Gorman at 903-983-7521 or Askala Harris at 903-983-8187.

All funds raised at the breakfast fundraiser will be awarded as scholarships for the following academic year.
